June 11, 2006 -- On my Links page, a really great website - Don Bain's Virtual Guidbooks - that has cool and excellent panoramas (QuickTime VR) of places all over the West, including some of my favorite Great Basin spots. Highly recommended! October 2, 2005 -- Right-click and "save target as" (or similar) this link - Black Rock Rattlesnake - to download a video I took of a rattlesnake I saw last weekend when driving north from the Black Rock Desert in northwest Nevada. It's unedited and a little shaky, but worth viewing if you think snakes are cool. The file is about 40MB (for 320x240 size), so you'll want to use a high-speed connection. If you are more patient, here's a larger-size (640x480) 90MB version Black Rock Rattlesnake (larger). April 16, 2005 -- Added a new New Photos page. Photos from a December 2004 trip, between Xmas and New Years, across Nevada and passing into 2005 in Eastern Oregon. April 10, 2005 -- FINALLY!! Added a new New Photos page. Photos from a July 2004 trip to the White Mountains of eastern California and Great Basin National Park in eastern Nevada. October 4, 2004 -- Added a panoramic view (537 KB) of the Alvord Desert. If you right-click on the link and save the QuickTime movie file to your computer and then view it with the QuickTime Player offline it runs smoother than viewing with the QuickTime browser plugin...for some reason. April 15, 2003 -- Added a new New Photos page. Photos from the Great Basin/Mojave transition area around the White/Inyo Mountains of far-eastern California. March 30, 2003 -- Added a new New Photos page. Great Basin stuff, featuring Indigenous graphics! March 23, 2003 -- Added a few more photos to the Colorado Plateau Photos page and made it the New Photos page. March 22, 2003 -- Added a Colorado Plateau Photos page...at this point just a mix of shots from miscellaneous places in the land of canyons and mesas. March 11, 2003 -- Updated the New Photos page, mostly with Oregon high desert scenes and a few others. January 12, 2003 -- Finally!!
